Creating Main Documents
You should create a main document for each type of output Word documents you plan to generate with the Vine Mail Merge tool.
The Mail Merge main document can include merge fields matching the column names set in xml configuration file. Each row of data generated by the merge will result in a new page, or set of pages, in the resulting Word document.
You can use the "#NAME#" string in the file name of a Word template to be replaced by the name of the right-clicked object when starting the Vine Mail Merge tool.
Creating Sample Main Document
- Create and open a word document (main document) that will include the permanent text of your letter:
- Place the cursor where you want to add a mail merge field, choose Insert->Field from the Word menu and then select MergeField. In the Field dialog, enter the name of the needed field (a full list of fields is available below) in the Field name edit box:
- Click OK to save the field.
- Add as many fields as needed and save the document.



This document has be installed to the Vine database as a support plug-in. Based on this main document and the selected recipients, the Vine Mail Merge tool will produce word documents of the following layout:
